Join the Master Gardeners Assoc. of AB for our annual Grounded in Science Fall Symposium with Rebecca McMackin, Tehreem Chughtai and Kerry Ross (Green T Design). Our theme this season is focusing on gardening with a lighter footprint. We have an incredible line up of speakers covering topics from bringing ecological principles into the garden, the use of IPM in the garden ecosystem and how to incorporate green roof principles into the home landscape. You won’t want to miss this gardening inspirational day.

SPHS member Mr. Hans Zurcher has offered to show us his orchard and gardens! No need to register. Address and directions will be sent out a few days before the date.

Guest Speaker: Gary Boehm - Previously of the Homesteader kitchen at the Multicultural Center.
Gary will share with us his knowledge of home canning and other ways to preserve our garden produce.
Spruce Grove Agra Fair
The Spruce Grove and District Agricultural Society are proudly hosting the 2023 Agra Fair. The event runs from August 25-27 at Central Park in Spruce Grove.

Guided Walk at Wagner Bog - Club Members Only
On Tuesday July 4th, 2023 the Stony Plain Horticultural Society has planned a guided walk (members only), through the Wagner Bog with Interpreter Mr. Dave Ealey.
Start of the walk will be 1.30pm and will take about 45 min to an hour. There is no charge but if you like to make a donation to the Wagner Bog Society, there is a donation box in the parking lot.
Please confirm via email to sphortsociety@gmail.com if you plan to attend. Mr. Ealey likes to have about 8-10 people on a guided walk. Therefore, if there are more who registered, Mr. Ealey agreed to do an extra one, just so you will have the benefit of the guided walk.
We will determine a time for a second walk if the need arises.
